Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 8, 2026
RenoBudget (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a home‑renovation planning app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: the app has no servers and collects no personal data.
Local‑first by design. RenoBudget has no backend, no account system and no analytics. Everything you enter — budgets, quotes, contractors, receipts, photos and documents — is stored only in the app's private storage on your device.
1. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, transmit, sell or share any of the following:
- Your name, email address, phone number or account credentials — the app has no sign‑up.
- Your renovation data: project budgets, payments, quotes, contractor details, tasks, measurements, materials, change orders, warranties, notes.
- Photos, receipts or documents you add to a project.
- Usage analytics, event logs, advertising identifiers or device fingerprints.
- Location data.
There is no server to receive this information. It never leaves your device through the app.
2. Data you create and where it lives
All content you create in RenoBudget is written to the app's sandboxed storage on your device. This includes any images and files you import via the system photo picker or file importer, which are copied into the app's own storage so they remain available to your project.
If you have iCloud device backup enabled in iOS Settings, the app's data is included in that backup, the same as any other app. That backup is managed and encrypted by Apple under Apple's terms; we have no access to it. RenoBudget does not operate its own iCloud sync service.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
RenoBudget Pro is offered as an auto‑renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) and as a one‑time lifetime purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see or receive your payment card details, billing address or Apple ID.
To determine whether Pro features are unlocked, the app asks the operating system about your current entitlements via StoreKit. This check happens between your device and Apple. Apple's handling of App Store transactions is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Notifications
The app can schedule local notifications — for example, task or warranty‑expiry reminders — only after you enable them and grant permission. These reminders are created and delivered entirely on your device. No push notifications are sent from any server, because there is no server.
5. Permissions the app may request
- Photos: so you can attach pictures to rooms and projects. Access is used only when you pick an image.
- Camera (if used): to capture a receipt or progress photo directly into a project.
- Notifications: to deliver the local reminders described above.
You can change any of these at any time in iOS Settings. Denying a permission only disables the related convenience feature.
6. Third parties
RenoBudget bundles no third‑party analytics, advertising, crash‑reporting or tracking SDKs. The only external party involved in your use of the app is Apple, in its role as the App Store payment processor and platform provider.
7. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
8. Data retention and deletion
Because your data is stored only on your device, you are in full control of it. To delete everything, delete a project inside the app or remove the app from your device; this permanently erases its local storage. We hold no copy to delete on your behalf.
9. Your rights
Privacy regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export or delete personal data held about you. Since RenoBudget holds no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase. Your data is already entirely in your possession on your device.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
